The Directorate organized a programme in the forenoon of 16 December, 2021 to make the farmers of the adjoining villages of Jabalpur aware about Natural farming. For this purpose the farmers from Bargi, Patan, Panagarh and the nearby villages were brought to Directorate and they were shown the live webcast of the address to the farming community by the the Hon’able Prime Minister of India Shr iNarendra Modi.

On this occasion, the Hon’able Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat shared his practical and personal experience of natural farming in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other places of the country. The farmers sincerely listened the concept of and real life success story on Natural farming as narrated by the Hon’able Shri Acharya jee. They have also expressed their satisfaction with the encouraging words of the Prime Minister on this issue.

The programme was attended by 120 farmers and students. Dr. JS Mishra, Director, ICAR-DWR urged the farmers to try this new concept at least in some small patches of their farm. All the scientists, technical, administrative and other staff members were also present on this occasion. After watching the live webcast, the farmers were taken to the Technology Park of the Directorate to show the improved weed management technologies.
