Dr. Panjab Singh, Ex. Secretary, Department of Agriculture Research & Education (DARE), and Director General ICAR, Visited the ICAR-DWR Jabalpur on 29th December, 2021. He inaugurated the newly developed ‘Farmer’s Sabhagar’ at the Farm area. On the occasion, Dr. Singh said that this newly created facility would help in training and demonstration of new weed management technologies developed by the Directorate to the farmers and other stakeholders.

He also visited the field experiments and laboratory facilities at the Directorate. While interacting with scientists and other staff members, Dr. Singh appreciated the achievements made by the Directorate on various aspects of weed management. He highlighted the unparalleled growth in agricultural production, despite the COVID-19, that not only made the country self-sufficient in food grain, but also enabled to provide free ration to the rural poor. He emphasised on the need to develop economical and eco-friendly technologies to meet the future challenges.

Earlier, Dr. J.S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-DWR welcomed Dr. Panjab Singh, and made a brief presentation of the achievements made by the Directorate. Dr. P.K. Singh, Pr. Scientist, briefed about the technology transfer activities of the Directorate, and proposed the vote of thanks.
