A total of 35 “Input dealers & suppliers” from Tendukheda, Kareli and Sihora blocks, Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh, who are dealing with supplying and distribution of pesticides, fertilizers and agricultural machineries were visited the ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur on 23 November, 2022. The visit was organized under DAESI programme, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, Narsinghpur district (M.P.).

During the visit Er. Chethan, C.R., Scientist, ICAR-DWR, briefed about ongoing research activities at the Directorate also showed the different facilities. Input dealers & suppliers were taken to the research fields, Engineering Workshop, Machinery shed, FACE facility etc and were explained about crop cultivation and weed management practices under conservation and conventional agricultural practices. They were also briefed about the safety aspects and effective herbicide application system.

Dr. P.K. Singh, Pr. Scientist, given the information to visitors on type of weeds and their identification, method of control, availability of the herbicides for different crops, recommended practice for chemical application, precautionary measures to be taken to control the weeds etc. Later, interaction session with Input dealers and supplies was also conducted to clarify the doubts with respect to herbicides ban, availability and other aspects of weed management.
