The Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt of India, Shri Radha Mohan Singh Ji visited the Bhopal on 18th May, 2018. During his visit to Bhopal he chaired a meeting at CIAE Bhopal with theAPC (M.P.), Principle Secretary (Agriculture), Principle Secretary (Animal husbandry), Principle Secretary (Horticulture), M.D. of M.P. Seed Corporation, ATMA officials of the state, Scientists and Senior Officers of ICAR Institutes, Directors, KVK and ATARI situated in Madhya Pradesh state.

Dr. P.K. Singh, Director and Er. Chethan, C.R., Scientist of this Directorate were attended the meeting. The Hon’ble Minister discussed the various aspects such as, fund utilization and different agricultural schemes of the Madhya Pradesh state, upliftment of the farmer’s livelihood, dairy technology, animal husbandry, input use efficiency etc., with the different state officials. He emphasized more on visit of scientists to the different blocks of the state to understand the farmer’s problem and act accordingly. He gave the directions to collaborate State Agriculture Department, State Agricultural Universities and ICAR institutes to work towards the upliftment of farmer’s livelihood and doubling their income. He given different examples of dairy industries in India and insist the state officials work hard to bring Madhya Pradesh state Dairy product brand “Sanchi” to the level of “Amul”, “Sudha” and “Nandini” brands.

He asked the Directors of ICAR institutes to give the technology which requires less input and less cost and are useful to the Farmers’. Dr. P.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-DWR briefed about the “Conservation Agriculture” a resource saving technology practiced at ICAR-DWR from last 6 years to the minister. The minister well appreciated the technology and asked the other Directors to bring out such technologies. The meeting was ended with the directions by the Hon’ble Minister to different officials to work towards the development of agriculture
