The IRC meeting of the ICAR-Directorate of Weed research Jabalpur was held during 28-30 June and 1st July 2021 under the Chairmanship of the Director. In his opening remarks, Dr JS Mishra, the Director said that the new project proposals need to be prepared in the light of the Directorate’s mandate and suggestions given by the RAC and the QRT. Dr Shobha Sondhia, Pr. Scientist & Member Secretary, IRC presented the ATR of the recommendations of the previous IRC.

All the scientists presented their research achievements of the year 2020-21 in a comprehensive manner. New project proposals on development of weeds, spraying techniques, Weed risk assessment, Phytoremediation through weeds, climate change and weeds, herbicide tolerance/resistance mechanisms, impact of herbicides on soil microbes, Impact assessment of weed management technologies were approved by the IRC after through discussion. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by the member secretary IRC.
