Swachhata Abhiyan, which was started by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 02 October 2014 on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a national campaign aimed at making the country clean and healthy. Under this campaign, special efforts are being made to increase awareness towards cleanliness and to make the society free from filth. With this objective, a program was organized for students and villagers in Government Higher Secondary School, Khukham on 21 December 2024 under the Swachhata Pakhwada in village Khukham, Ranipur Tehsil Kundam.
The program was presided over by Dr. PK Mukherjee, Pr. Scientist. Dr. Deepak Pawar, Scientist, Dr. Jamaluddin A., Scientist and Monica Raghuvanshi, SRF were also present in this program. Dr. Mukherjee, in his address, explained the objectives and importance of the Swachhata Abhiyan and made people aware of various dimensions of cleanliness such as nature cleanliness, culture and goodwill cleanliness. Dr. Deepak Pawar said that the aim of the Swachhta Abhiyan is to build toilets in every house, waste management as well as promote personal responsibility and awareness towards cleanliness. Monica Raghuvanshi advised to stay healthy by being aware of cleanliness.
30 students and 15 villagers actively participated in the program. The students discussed and asked questions about various aspects of cleanliness. In the end, the school principal administered an oath to all those present to maintain cleanliness. At the end of the program, Dr. Jamaluddin A. thanked the school principal, teachers, students and all the villagers. This program was successful in explaining the importance of cleanliness and motivating people. It played an important role in increasing awareness about cleanliness among the rural residents and students.
