The XVIII RAC meeting was held on 7-8 March, 2015. Dr. R. K.Malik chaired the meeting with Dr. R.S.Balyan, Dr. B.L.Jalali, Dr. B.S.Parmar,, Dr. B. Mohankumar, ADG (NRM), ICAR and Dr. A.R. Sharma, Director, ICAR-DWR as members. Dr. Shobha Sondhia was Member secretary. At the outset, Dr. A.R. Sharma extended a warm welcome to Chairman and made a brief presentation made a brief presentation on salient achievements of the Directorate and major initiatives undertaken since 2012.

Dr. R.K. Malik, in his opening remarks, emphasized for the priority setting based on past achievements and out- come needed. Dr. B. Mohan Kumar emphasized that the Directorate is a unique organization in agriculture with super specialty and dealing with older and newer challenges in weed management. He suggested for focused work on invasive alien weed species. Dr. B.S. Parmar appreciated the DWR silver jubilee publications and opined that publication is on right way. Dr. B.L. Jalali emphasized need of publishing some good success stories of technologies, which had made major tangible impact to the agriculture related to weed science based on completion of 25 years of the establishment of the Directorate.

Dr. R.S. Balyan emphasized on extension, need of testing of eco-friendly molecules, for crops. The action taken reports for RAC was presented by Dr. Shobha Sondhia. Dr. Bhumesh Kumar, member secretary, IRC presented action taken report for IRC. Research achievements made by scientists during the year were presented and discussed in the RAC meeting.
