Farmers’ field day cum sangosthi was organised on 18th March, 2015 at Bharda village of Panager locality, Jabalpur. The field day was attended by 150 progressive farmers, NGOs, Grampradhan/Panchayat member, state agriculture department officer and scientists from DWR. Female farmers also participated in a good number. Dr. A.R. Sharma, Director, chaired the function. Dr. P.K.Singh, Principal Scientist and programme leader of OFR programme welcomed the farmers and highlighted the research activities being carried out at farmers’ fields of different villages of Panagar locality in a participatory mode.

The importance of different aspects of weed management in crop production was briefed to farming community. The outcome of the IWM technologies both in conventional agriculture and conservation agriculture practices was also discussed.Scientists of DWR, namely Dr Shushil kumar, Dr Shobha Sondhia, Dr Raghwendra Singh, Dr Bhumesh Kumar and Dr Meenal Rathore delivered lectures on biological weed control, residue management, weed utilization ans management of weedy rice and also replied the questions raised by farmers in the Krishak Sanghosti related to their problems in weed management, conservation agriculture and crop production.
