XXII Annual group meeting of All India Coordinated Research Project on Weed Management was organised at Professor Jayshankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Hyderabad, Hyderabad, 17-18 October 2015. Inaugural session was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Dr. V. Praveen Rao, Registrar & Special Officer, PJTSAU, Hyderabad, Guests of Honour, Dr. N.T. Yaduraju, Former Director, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur, Dr. D. Raji Reddy, Director of Research, PJTSAU, Hyderabad, Dr. D. Raji Reddy, Director of Research, PJTSAU, Hyderabad, Dr. P.C. Rao, Dean Agriculture & PG Studies, PJTSAU, Hyderabad and Dr. N. Vasudev, Director of Extension, PJTSAU, Hyderabad. Scientists of 23 regular AICRP-WM coordinating centres, 3 ICAR institutes and one volunteer centres attended the meeting.

Dr. A.R. Sharma, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur welcomed the Chief Guests and participants during inaugural function and gave his welcome address highlighting the role of AICRP-WM in managing weeds and made a brief presentation of salient research achievements of DWR, Jabalpur. Salient research achievements of AICRP-Weed Management during 2014-15 was presented by Dr. Shobha Sondhia, In-charge, AICRP-WM, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur.

Progress and research achievements under this project in Central, North, East, West and South zones were presented by Nodal officers. Dr Gita Kulsherestha, Retired head and Professor, IARI, New Delhi and Dr C.M. Singh, Former Professor and Head, NDUAT, Faizabad was invited as resource person for this meeting. During the meeting, two books ‘Pramukh Pasalo mein Kharpatwar Niyantran’ written by scientist of GBPUAT, Pantnagar Centre and ‘Illustrative Guide for Detection and Identification of Regulated Weeds’ by NIPHM, Hyderabad were released. AICRP-WM Best Centre Award was given to GBPUAT, Pantnagar.
