On 17th August 2016, Parthenium Awareness Programme was held at village Simariya of district Narsinghpur. Dr. A.R. Sharma , Director, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur appealed the villagers to make the village Parthenium-free. Information on Parthenium and weed management technologies were given by Dr. P.K. Singh and Dr Sushilkumar, Principal Scientists, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur and by Dr. Aashutosh Sharma, SMS, KVK, Narsinghpur.

At this occasion, progressive farmers Shri Pachori also shared the views about the Parthenium and conservation agriculture. He appreciated the efforts made by ICAR-DWR to demonstrate the conservation agriculture in the area.

Boxes of Mexican beetles were provided to selected participants representing different villages with the request to release in the respective area. The programme was convened by Dr. P.J. Khankhane, Senior Scientist
