A 15 days hands on training programme for PG students entitled “Agriculture Biotechnology – Microbes and their biotechnological interventions for sustainable agriculture with special reference to biological weed management” was conducted during 6-20 September, 2016 at ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur.

The training programme was sponsored by MP Biotechnology Council, Bhopal. In this training programme, 23 students from different colleges/University of Jabalpur, and Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday University participated. In closing function, Dr. Bhumesh Kumar, Senior Scientist and Course Director briefed about the content and activities of the training programme. Participants also shared their views about the content and utility of training course.

Dr. P.K. Singh. Principal Scientist and I/c Director, ICAR-DWR chaired the closing function. In his remarks, he emphasized the need and utility of such training courses for the students. Prizes for best performers and certificates of participation were distributed. Dr. Yogita Gharde conducted the programme and Mr. V.C. Tyagi proposed the vote of thanks.
