As a part of the Swachhta Pakhwada being observed by the Directorate of Weed Research from 16 - 31 October 2016, a whole day programme of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organized in different villages of Katni district on 27.10.2016. Awareness rallies on the importance of cleanliness were organized at Bichua and Banda villages. More than 100 students from the Gyan Mangala Public School, Bichua and about 50 students from the Secondary School, Banda participated in the rallies.

The spontaneous response of the students in the rallies attracted villagers to become the part of the programme. Students and other villagers were made aware about the significance of cleanliness around them that would ultimately help in making a healthier environment for their livelihood. Along with this, a couple of plantation programmes was conducted in both the schools. Principals, teachers and students were impulsive in planting the saplings. The entire programme was organized by Dr. R.P. Dubey, Dr. P.P. Choudhury, Mr. Chethan C.R., Mr. K.K. Tewari, Mr. Rajan Singh and Mr. Premlal.
