The fourth Agriculture Education Day was celebrated on 11 November, 2016 to promote the spirit of agricultural science among school children. Thirty seven students along with their teachers from 4 different schools located in rural areas of four districts, viz. Katni, Mandla, Seoni and Narshingpur took part in the day-long activities. Inspirational talks, and visits to laboratories and research fields were organized to mark the day. Dr. P.P. Choudhury, Pr. Scientist and Convener of the programme explained in his welcome address about the importance of the Day, which is dedicated for the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azadji, the first education minister of independent India.

Participating students were enlightened about the national agricultural research and education system in India by the Director, Dr. A.R. Sharma. He also highlighted the opportunities existing for students pursuing their career in agricultural education. Dr. R.P. Dubey, Pr. Scientist told about the organic agriculture- its usefulness and prospects. Dr. Shobha Sondhia, Sr. Scientist presented her lecture on pollution and its impact in the society.

Students interacted with scientists and staff spontaneously on various aspects of agriculture science during presentations made by scientists and visit to lab and field. In the closing ceremony, students were given Certificate of Participation. The programme ended with vote of thanks given by Dr.Yogita Gharde. P.P. Choudhury, Dr. P.J. Khankhane, Dr. Yogita Gharde, Mr. Sandeep Dhagat and Mr. S.K. Parey conducted the programme.
